On My Bookshelf

Do you remember the children’s show Reading Rainbow featuring LeVar Burton?  You can probably still sing the entire song, can’t you?  I still remember the way each child enthusiastically described the book he or she was encouraging other children to read.  Reading Rainbow strove not just to teach children how to read or that reading is “good”, but the goal was to teach children to love to read and to really enjoy the experience of being immersed in a great book.

Just as that nostalgic show propelled kids to read in the ’80s and ’90s, I’d like to share my book picks with you.  You will find an assortment of books I am currently reading which are intended to benefit educators, parents, and of course, students.  Please feel free to share your favorites with me; I’m always looking for a new one!
